Gotha WD.2 (1914)
The Gotha WD Family was central to Gothaer Waggonfabrik to pake its mark in the limited club of seaplane manufacturers in WWI. Less well known than its family of heavy bombers, Gotha nevertheless started on a licenced Avro 504 prewar and constantly improved it. This posts tries to go through all declinations, from the WD.1 to the WD.15. Most remained prototypes, but a total of 25 were manufactured of the WD.2 alone in 1914, most operating on the North Sea in the Jade, or either from Turkey as part of the Marine-Fliegerabteilung, or directly for the Turkish Navy.
